Funday Demo¶
In this guide, we will walk you through the making of a short video called Funday with Google GenMedia models Nano Banana and Veo. You will be using text and reference to generate images with Nano Banana and vidoes with Veo.
The Funday Demo script consists of different stages of shot production which are Casting, Character Continuity, Environments & Props, Storyboarding and Shot production.
Casting¶
In this phase, you will bring your characters to life by generating high-fidelity visuals using the Text-to-Image feature in Nano Banana. Rather than over-engineering the technicalities, you can lean on the model's capabilities to handle the heavy lifting of rendering and detail. By exploring the various options provided by the Nano Banana, you can quickly cycle through different aesthetic interpretations of your prompt. This workflow is designed for rapid experimentation, allowing you to iterate on specific traits like expression or texture until the results align with your vision. Once you have refined these outputs and achieved visual consistency, you can finalize your characters to serve as the foundation for the rest of your production.

Character continuity¶
Once the final character design is locked, the workflow transitions into detailed character studies to establish a comprehensive emotional range and a versatile pose library. A standout advantage of utilizing Nano Banana and Veo is their ability to maintain robust character continuity, ensuring the design remains flawless even when rendered at novel or complex angles. By leveraging the advanced consistency tools within these models, you can significantly accelerate the development stage while keeping the visual identity intact. This streamlined process allows for the rapid generation of animation tests and reference sheets that define the precise look and feel of the entire production. Ultimately, this phase ensures high-quality, professional output where the character’s appearance and style remain grounded across every single frame.

Environment and Props¶
Once the characters are finished and look the same every time, it’s time to build the world they live in and the items they use. You will use the same steps you used for the characters to create all the backgrounds and props for your story. This ensures that the landscapes and objects match the style of your characters, making the whole world feel like it fits together perfectly. By building all these pieces early on, you create a solid foundation for the AI to work with before you start making videos. This makes the final animation process much smoother because your characters will look like they truly belong in their environment.

Storyboards¶
Once you have your props and environments ready, you can start putting your storyboards together to map out the action. Instead of drawing every frame from scratch, you can use these images to show exactly where the characters go and how the story moves along. Using Nano Banana helps you see how your props and characters look together in different scenes before you start the final animation. This makes it much easier to plan your shots and ensures that your visual story stays clear and easy to follow from the first frame to the last.

Shot Production¶
Now that your storyboards are ready, you can start the actual shot production by turning those sketches into high-quality images and videos using Nano Banana and Veo. After you pick the best versions, you can go back and make changes based on your own notes to make sure everything looks just right. You have total control over the small details, so you can easily change things like the camera angle, the size of the characters, or how the shot is framed. By following these simple steps, you can keep the style the same across your entire project. This makes sure that every single shot feels like it belongs in the same movie.
